Jazz Standards - All Of Me
Written by Simon Harris
Thursday, 03 June 2010 09:47

All Of Me was written by Gerald Marks and Seymour Simmons back in the 1930s and often tends to be played in a fast Gypsy Swing style by guitar players - this doesn't have to be the case though, and it can be bopped quite easily and slowed down quite considerably (the Real Book Lead Sheet indicates Medium Swing!).

The changes are quite challenging for a beginner but the good thing is that you get two bars of each chord throughout the majority of the song - this gives you time to explore arpeggios, modes and blues scales to the full.

Anyway, here's the Real Book Lead Sheet which you can print using the PDF icon, email to yourself or share over the Internet.

The publisher doesn't pay any copyright on these tunes, so I should be OK posting this All Of Me Lead Sheet on the site. However, every self-respecting jazz musician needs to own a copy of the Real Book, so I strongly suggest you get hold of one ASAP.

Clicking on the link below will take you to the Real Book Information Page on the Advanced Guitar BookStore that Amazon.Com runs for us. You'll see that the Real Book not only contains All Of Me but also just about every jazz standard you ever get asked to play at jam sessions.

Check it out - NOW!

All Of Me Lyrics

All of me
Why not take all of me
Can't you see
I'm no good without you
Take my lips
I want to lose them
Take my arms
I'll never use them
Your goodbye left me with eyes that cry
How can I go on dear, without you
You took the part that once was my heart
So why not take all of me
