These lesson notes correspond to the Guitar Pro Tab, PDF and Audio files for Lesson 17 - Exploring the Intervals of the Complete Major Scale from Sight Singing Major Scales - Part One of Perfect Your Pitch - Ear Training And Sight Reading For Guitar Players.

This lesson provides in-depth Interval Pitch Recognition Practice for all Degrees of the C Major scale focusing particularly on the fourth degree  - the F note, which is a Perfect Fourth above the Root.

Much the same as with the Practice Exercise the main difficulty now is that you've got all seven pitches of the major scale over almost two octaves to hear in your mind before you sing the note. Obviously, a lot of concentration is necessary particularly if you are practising without referring to the tab.

By the way, although the image below shows 60 bpm, on the final versions of the tabs I've dropped the speed to 40 bpm - rhythm and pace are not the objective hear, what you're trying to do is to hear the sound clearly in your head before you sing it and that requires a slower tempo.

Guitar Ear Training Programs And Links

The accompanying Guitar Tab Files for this Ear Training Course are available in Guitar Pro 6 format from the Advanced Guitar Player Downloads section.

If you haven't got a copy of Guitar Pro, Click here to visit the Guitar Pro download page.

Although they often don't provide progressive Aural Skills development for beginners, ear training software programs can be very useful. I personally use EarMaster Pro - Click here to download a Trial Version of EarMaster Essential, Pro or School.
