These lesson notes correspond to the Guitar Pro Tab, PDF and Audio files for Lesson 8 - Exploring the Intervals of the Major 6 Chord from Sight Singing Major Scales - Part One of Perfect Your Pitch - Ear Training And Sight Reading For Guitar Players. * These Exploring Intervals exercises are pretty challenging because they are designed so that you can't rely on a melody - you just have to pull the sound of the note out of your head. Although you MUST learn how to sing these sounds, we're getting to the point where there's plenty to do on the guitar. I might create a Gutar Applications lesson but meanwhile . . . create melodies and riffs using a C 6 arpeggio . . . that's C, E, G and A . . . do this at both the third fret with C as the Root and G as the bottom note and at the eighth fret going from C to C. You can make a lot of music with just these four notes! You can also practice the similar ideas using the A minor seventh arpeggio at the the fifth fret . . . the same notes A, C, E and G, in a different order . . . this will give them a different tonal colour. Make sure you can sing everything you play and limit yourself to only these four notes . . . you'll soon discover that sometimes less is more!
Guitar Ear Training Programs And LinksThe accompanying Guitar Tab Files for this Ear Training Course are available in Guitar Pro 6 format from the Advanced Guitar Player Downloads section. If you haven't got a copy of Guitar Pro, Click here to visit the Guitar Pro download page. Although they often don't provide progressive Aural Skills development for beginners, ear training software programs can be very useful. I personally use EarMaster Pro - Click here to download a Trial Version of EarMaster Essential, Pro or School.
